Reading and Writing Fluency are skills that are needed for comprehension and communication in all subject areas in school and in life. Covid has had an effect on my first grade students leaving them with little to no pre- reading and writing skills. We have worked so hard this school year to learn all the consonants and vowels and their sounds They are now beginning to use these skills in their reading and writing. My students are so thirsty to read ,write and learn. The easel that I have selected will help me and them listen to and read the many big books I have in my classroom with comfort and ease because of the attached display shelf. Children need to listen to books to develop a love for reading. It also has a felt board for them to listen to a tell stories to help them communicate and write. The white board and hooks to attach chart paper will allow for teaching and independent practice. This is an easel I have been dreaming about for years. Please help me help them achieve their independent goals and objectives in reading and writing with this versatile piece of equipment.
