My students love to experience and learn new things. Many of them come from diverse economic backgrounds meaning they do not have the space, time, or money to garden. This also means that some students do not regularly have access to fresh produce. The goal with this garden is to teach students how to grow their own produce. Students will also be learning the science behind plant growth in their applied science class and how to cook the produce they grow in their FACS class. Currently there are only a few hand trowels available for students to use. This means that only one or two students can garden at a time and not every student gets the experience they need. The supplies on this list would allow all students to participate in the garden. This would also allow the class to grow a larger garden that produces more for students to take home.
