Students are more engaged in their learning when they are able to experience it first hand. A 3-D printer would enable my students to experience technology from concept and design through implementation. A 3-D printer will help to prepare my students for their future science, art, and technology education as well as careers in these fields, and develop the confidence they need to pursue these challenging courses and careers. I asked my students how having a 3-D printer would help their learning. Here's what some of them had to say: "We should have one because we can practice engineering and designing. If we needed plastic supplies, we could make them. It would be amazing!" -B.J. "We could do anything, such as toys, robots, etc. We could make pop-its, candy launchers and more!" - GM "I feel like it would be nice because we can make whatever we think of and it will help us to be a bit more creative." - SL
