My school media center is filled with books but not necessarily books that cater to the students we serve. I want them to get excited about reading while also increasing Lexile scores. Our student Lexiles are not where we want or need them to be but I know by providing them with the right type of books we can change the narrative. The books in this project will be housed in the library and entered into circulation so all scholars have an opportunity to read them. Some of them will be used for our little free library as well. The large printer has been requested by teachers and students alike for anchor charts. Many teachers require large print posters to place around the room as they teach specific concepts in their lessons. Chart paper does get the job done sometimes but it is also very limiting.
