These materials will provide students with the supplies they need to stay organized and motivated! Most of my students work after school so class time is the most important time for them to practice their literacy skills. It is important that their past and current work is on hand. Binders, clipboards, and storage shelves to will keep us organized. It is very important for MLL students to physically interact with written text. A black and white printer will help me print out worksheets and supports. Notebooks will be used by students to create dialogue journals. Dialogue notebooks are a safe, low-risk way for students to practice producing written language. The students respond to prompts or free-write in the notebooks and I respond, modeling language use and creating a conversation between teacher and student. Word parts posters support student to identify the function of words so they can understand their meaning and use them. Posters with literacy terms will also support students' use of academic language.
