We have bright, wonderful junior high students who are being held back by weak reading skills. This affects not only their academics but also their confidence in the real world. To help, we are providing targeted, phonics-based intervention in the classroom, which is the gold standard for students with fluency challenges and, particularly, for students with dyslexia. Additionally, we would like to stock our class library with high interest, accessible graphic novels. These are cherry-picked to reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of our class and to help students get reacquainted with their love of reading. With your help, we will help these deserving kids to thrive in school and beyond.
