Our students have experienced many challenging life experiences which make learning difficult. We are trying to help teach our students healthy coping skill to hopefully increase their daily attendance, productivity in the classroom and over all well being. We have realized that social emotional learning is critical in our students success. These supplies will be used in our schools calm down room as well as make smaller boxes for the classroom so that students who choose to stay in class can do so. We have noticed that if we allow our students to use the calm down room for 15 minutes they are able then to return to class and be productive for the rest of the day. These skills are helping students stay in school and become successful. Our students are here at our school because they have struggled at their previous school and have fallen behind as a result. Our hope is that our students will use there skills to stay on track for graduation and carry theses skills to be successful after high school.
