My math students use whiteboard circles for brainstorming, working out math problems, writing down their thoughts, ideas in math class daily. Using this format, students are understanding the importance of communicating clearly and effectively. Because my students use this method on a daily basis, the inventory of dry erase markers needs to be maintained. Some of my introverted students are more apt to share their thinking on a whiteboard than orally. This approach has helped me have a more inclusive classroom without the pressure of having to call on students for their thoughts.
