I want to jump into the school year with goals set and a plan in motion. I can't wait to get started. My goal is to have all of my students reading chapter books as close to grade level as possible by the end of the school year. What better way to show the students the joys of reading than classic chapter books? I love reading aloud and using different voices to engage the students. Every year my class can't wait until the next school day to hear what happens next to their favorite characters. The books I have selected will not only engage my students but assist them in falling in love with chapter books. Third grade is that make or break year, either you love to read or you don't. I know I can show them that reading can take you places or let you be anyone you want to be. I can do that with this project. It's a major investment in creating lifelong readers. I can't wait to meet my goal.
