Students will learn to connect Art and Social Emotional Learning in their everyday life. Art/Painting Sessions will take place during lunch time 'life-skills counseling' group. By implementing Art as a coping mechanism in group counseling, competencies that students will learn are self awareness and self management through art. Often times, students are not given a chance to demonstrate creative abilities during group counseling. With these paint sessions, students will show creativity that can help them cope with self management and relationship skills. Art can most importantly be a useful coping skill that can lead to good decision making further on in life.
