My classroom is full of struggling learners who are desperate to learn. Several of my kids have learning disabilities that make reading and writing extraordinarily challenging for them. The use of laptops would not only accommodate some of the very specific needs of my inclusion students, but they are simply an essential component of any classroom in 2012. I don't believe that students should be robbed of using the technology their peers have access to simply because they are low income or learning disabled. I hope you feel the same way.
