My students will benefit so much from a subscription to Scholastic News. This subscription will help my readers with fluency, comprehension, and learning about the word around us. First graders are so eager to learn about real life topics and Scholastic News gives them just that! With limited nonfiction texts at this particular reading level, it is sometimes difficult to bring these topics to life. Scholastic News will help enrich our Social Studies and Science lessons. Each student gets their own mesmerizing, in-color magazine to work with and to take home when completed. They can then share what they have learned with family and read over and over again. Each child will quickly build their own nonfiction reading library! How exciting!!
