This project will bring my first grade students a large selection of diverse books that will broaden their image of reading. These books will show them people that look like them, have feelings like them and show them new opportunities. This will help children to see how people like them became successful, how to deal with the emotions that the feel and teach them new things. Reading is something that many children struggle with, and it is my hope that by providing them with unique books, then they may not face that struggle.
