I am hoping to create a "peaceful place," for my young students to self-regulate their emotions and have the time they need to be ready to learn in our classroom. I am creating a classroom environment in which my students will feel supported and cared for, first and foremost. The chair will be a part of the cozy, home-like environment that I hope to create. We were fortunate to gain a bunch of new leveled readers to help our students develop in their literacy, but we have no way of storing them. The baskets will be used to create an accessible and warm classroom library. The paints will be used to incorporate the arts into all subjects and engage students in a developmentally appropriate way while strengthening their fine motor skills. Help me to create the classroom environment that my students deserve! They have been waiting all through covid to be a part of a community and I want to revive their childhood with creative expression, connection, and open opportunities to learn.
