The students I serve come to school with a disadvantage due to cultural and social economic challenges. Students with such challenges are often unmotivated and discouraged throughout the learning process. According to pedagogical research, education opportunities infused with the arts motivate and inspire learners to be creative and enthusiastic about content as well as make authentic connections. My goal is to infuse visual arts and theatre to enhance learning experiences with Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science standards. I am soliciting funds so that I can acquire the necessary tools to successfully implement art infused projects throughout the school year. Funding will assist with purchasing materials to create props and puppets for theatre production as well as paint, paint brushes and craft supplies to assist with visual arts projects.
