These books will provide my students a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences that they can relate to and learn from. It is important for my students to understand that positive role models come from more than just one walk of life. Having a range of positive characters creates good role models for my students. When students go to our classroom library I want them to see people that look like them. They can make authentic connections with powerful role models to take after. My students will greatly benefit from this collection of books.
