My kids are struggling with wasting time getting their pencils sharpened in the electric class sharpener house in one corner of the classroom. If they have battery operated pencil sharpeners handy at their table area, they never have to get up to go to the electric sharpener away from their table area and current task at hand. This will save an extraordinary amount of time which they could use to get their tasks done. With their tasks done, they will feel more accomplished and be able to move on to tasks like reading or computer programs which do not require a sharpened pencil.
