I will use each of these games as extension activities in my math classes. I teach geometry and principles classes. The principles classes are for students who have struggled with the basics of math and are not ready for Algebra or Geometry yet. These are students who continue to need help gaining confidence and belief in their own abilities. The games will be mostly used with the principles classes to help those students become more comfortable with math and seeing numbers and strategy around them. Specifically the checkers and chutes and ladders games will be used for tournaments around breaks/after semester finals. Chutes and Ladders can be used with different color dice to represent negative numbers, multiplying, adding, subtracting, and dividing (why I included different colored dice as well). The individual games are for students who finish early and need more time spend on developing critical thinking and problem solving skills.
