Flexible seating will allow my students to focus on their learning instead of struggling to stay still at their seats. Kindergartners have tons of energy and that energy can be used to encourage learning by giving it an outlet. The bouncy chairs will be used by those students that need movement to focus. The wobble chairs will be used by those who have specific sensory needs. The wobble chairs will be used by all my students throughout the week so they can get a break from sitting on their normal seats. When students are able to have access to the different seating options, they will know that they are capable of making choices that can improve their learning. Taking ownership of their bodies is something we talk a lot about in kinder and I think that these flexible seating options are just the beginning.
