Flexible seating will provide my students the ability to decide what option is best for them to learn. When students have an opportunity to make decisions in their learning they take greater responsibility of their learning outcomes. This will lead to greater learning gains across the classroom. Flexible seating leads to greater engagement and less disruptive behavior. Both the wobble stools and the balance balls add the ability to incorporate movement while staying focused on the lesson or the task they are completing. Since the students will have the option to move within their area, they will be less likely to find reasons to move around the classroom, distracting other students. I have seen how choice can positively affect students' work and demeanor and hope that options in our class will help us grow!
