The dimmable lighting is important for my room since I am working with students who need help regulating their behavior. The atmosphere in my room needs to be adaptable to the students needs. The students who enter my room sometimes need bright lights to do work and other times need calm, soothing low light to relax, calm down and talk through their emotions and challenges. The stress relieving mats and pillows will help ease muscle tension and will feel very soothing for students who need that extra sensory stimulation. Play-doh is a great manipulative for students to concentrate on and use their fine motor skills while we talk about social/emotional issues.
