I work with a lovely set of kids that traditionally have struggled in mathematics. They are bright kids that have been told (often times by themselves) that "they can't do math" or that "they are not a math person". The best part of my job is showing them that they can and they are. After getting through the 2020 school year my students are now being hit with another curve ball, brand new math curriculum. Our curriculum is fabulous, but comes with a lot of needed supplies. In order to best keep them organized I have designed an interactive notebook which will hold all of their notes and their lessons. The unfortunate part is that many of my students can't afford to buy their own notebook, and often times the provided worksheets get thrown away after one use. My goal with this project is to be able to get a notebook into the hands of each of my students and also cut down on the waste my class produces by laminating some materials so they can be used over and over again for years to come.
