This year I am the new music teacher at Eden Park Academy in Austin, Texas. One of my main reason's for taking on this position is because they truly value the arts in the education of their students and the goal is to have the students musically literate by the time they finish 5th grade. When I looked into what resources I was working with, I found a set of Orff xylophones. I decided I would use them to teach the students to read and play music, but there were not enough for each students. The extra xylophones would greatly help my students to each play on an instrument and participate in lessons. My campus has classes that max out at 20 students per teacher. So, I am trying my best to get to as close to 20 instruments as possible. With the instruments I have requested, I will be much closer to that goal.
