I am asking for materials to set up a foot ware section in our schools necessity store. This "store" is near and dear to my heart. Here we provide free supplies to our students in need. I have affectionately named it our Bearcub Boutique. In our school we see a lot of children that are in need of not just school supplies but also clothes and toiletries. We know that if students do not have these necessities, it can interfere with their learning. A new pair of shoes may seem like a simple gesture but they are something that can really support a student's sense of self worth. It helps them to fit in with their peers and have confidence while at school. We have been fortunate that we have begun to receive several shoe donations from individuals in our community, so I am now asking for shelves to help display the shoes. In addition to the shelves I would like to have a couple small ottoman poufs, a rug, and a mirror so that students have a place to try on shoes and check them out. I have also included a heavy duty wagon so that I can transport our clothing and shoe donations once they arrive at our school. Thank you for you consideration in supporting our project!
