The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in language arts. Whiteboards prove to be beneficial in reducing wasted paper and ink but they also are a great change for the students and they really love using them. A major setback of whiteboards for kindergarteners is that it takes several minutes to pass them out, return them, keep them from being chipped/broken, storing them, etc. I love being able to see what they are working on and make their handwriting practice fun, but the transitions, storage, and upkeep are too challenging and time consuming. Dry erase sticky dots would allow me to capitalize on the pros while eliminating the cons! They stick right to the table, are long lasting but easy to replace, and do not need to be stored, passed out, or returned. Having them already stuck to the table at their seats, students would benefit from being able to practice writing, drawing shapes, and so much more as part of our regular instruction but also as an early-finisher activity that is not distracting to their peers. By donating to our project, you will not only help to increase penmanship practice and promote productivity, you will ultimately help to increase students' academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not where to store materials, how long it takes to distribute and returns materials, or loss of instructional time during the process.
