Thanks to your donations, our classroom received brand-new headphones and a portable whiteboard, and these additions have completely transformed the way my students experience French language learning.\r\n\r\nBefore your support, listening activities were often challenging. Students would strain to hear over background noise or share limited equipment, which sometimes took away from the joy of discovery. Now, with the new headphones, every student can fully immerse themselves in the sounds of French, listening to native speakers, songs, and short stories with crystal-clear audio. I've watched their faces light up when they recognize familiar phrases or proudly whisper, \"J'ai compris !\" (\"I understood!\"). One of my favorite moments was seeing a student who once struggled with listening comprehension eagerly explaining to a classmate what she heard in a French story, a true sign of confidence and growth.\r\n\r\nThe portable whiteboard has also become an essential tool at our listening corner. It allows me to model comprehension strategies, write down tricky expressions, and record new vocabulary in real time as students listen. The board has turned what used to be a passive activity into an interactive and collaborative experience. During one recent session, my students filled the board with words they caught from a French song, turning listening into a joyful, creative language hunt.\r\n\r\nI want you to know that your contribution has made a lasting impact. These materials are not just tools — they are gateways to meaningful learning moments that build confidence, curiosity, and connection. My students now look forward to their listening time each day; they put on their headphones with smiles, ready to dive into authentic French voices and stories that bring our classroom to life.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has reminded us that even small acts of giving can create profound change. Because of you, my students are not only improving their French comprehension skills, but they are also discovering the joy of understanding another culture and language in a personal, hands-on way.","fullyFundedDate":1755714659667,"projectUrl":"project/improving-french-speaking-skills/9601155/","projectTitle":"Improving French Speaking Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hudgens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6781241"},{"teacherId":1031593,"projectId":9283680,"letterContent":"On behalf of Morgan Elementary Preschool, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your generous donation. With your support, we have been able to see students climb stairs more independently, hit a ball, kick a ball, and make social connections that we have not seen happen previously. \r\n\r\nWe are thrilled by the growth this grant has made for our community. When the supplies started to arrive, the students were so eager to start using everything!\r\n The biggest impact of the project was the whiteboards. Students use them at least once a week to write group responses and to take notes. Every student is 100% engaged when we pull the whiteboards out!\r\n Another favorite is the pencil sharpeners. I explained how to use it properly and then they used it themselves. They were so excited that it was so simple AND it sharpened perfectly every time. I was excited that it didn't waste any valuable group time.\r\n Yet another favorite was the clipboards. They were so happy to be able to sit on the floor and have an easier time writing. I heard one student say, \"Oooohhh, these clipboards are nice!\"\r\n Every item we recieved has helped in making my 3rd graders \"collaborators\". These wobble stools are used everyday and allow students the ability to be comfortable and choose for themselves what they need to succeed. These stools are one of several options I have in my room that encourage students to be aware of their surroundings and how different choices can impact their ability to learn. \r\n\r\nBefore receiving these stools, students were sitting on stools that were constantly breaking and falling apart. Having a class size of 30+ means every seat in my room is filled, I didn't have anywhere for students to sit when a stool would break.
