Students who independently create or explore, often open the doors to higher-level thinking by asking questions or problem-solving. In the classroom, students work daily with enriching activities during stations. Within the stations in kindergarten, students work on a play-based level. These hands-on activities will allow my students to explore and problem solve with numbers, shapes, and letters that help them in their first steps to reading and writing. Having foam letters will allow them to learn to recognize the letters and feel their shape, understand that letters make words, and then build their own. Using shape-creating tools, they will learn to recognize shapes and understand that shapes can be used to build other shapes. All of these tools will help to make our stations more engaging to help the students become successful!
