Numerous studies show that young children learn and apply what they have learned from realistic stories as realistic stories have a greater impact than stories with animated objects or animals. My classroom would like books that are relatable to our kids, reflect who they are, books about how others walk through the world, and books that show who they can be! Our students love to listen and read stories, and they love to turn and talk to one another about the characters and big ideas in high-quality texts. I would like to provide an opportunity for my kids to learn about diversity adn inclusion.
