We are building a costuming workshop where my students can learn everything from basic sewing, to costume design and construction for school plays and events. Our project is the first step in turning our Advanced Drama Class into a fully realized Career and Technical Education (CTE) course; a course that will "prepare students for high demand careers with a depth of learning that builds real-world skills." Our goal is to provide current and future students with a place to explore this aspect of theatre and discover another aspect of the performing arts that doesn't require them to be on stage. There are other ways to be a star!
