My hope is to make the counseling room feel special and welcoming. Students enter my room for a number of reasons, including when they are in crisis. I will use the sensory tiles in games to help students identify emotions and coping skills, as well as give students a chance to let their minds focus on their shifting colors. I will use the bean bag chairs as a comfortable place for students to sit while I teach lessons through social emotional stories. These stories teach students how to show resilience, kindness, practice emotional regulation, and more.
