A kidney table serves a greater purpose than just being a piece of furniture in the classroom. It creates a comfortable space for small group learning and collaboration. This project will give our students whiteboard kidney tables that will allow my co-teacher and I to simultaneously provide intensive math instruction to small groups of students. This learning space will be used for us to support small groups of students with remediation/enrichment depending on their individual needs. These kidney tables will provide the space we need to differentiate instruction to small groups of students, . The whiteboard feature gives us the opportunity to model math processes for students, and they would be able to do the same. We will also use the kidney table to work with each other in small groups to foster collaboration skills and improve math communication.
