My kindergarteners have experienced much of their schooling virtually and some haven't even been inside a school before. I want their transition back to school to be welcoming and I want to provide them with many activities to practice their fine motor and language skills. Many of my students struggle holding a pencil so I want to create activities in which they can still practice their letters and writing but with different things such as sand and playfoam. My kindergartners are also learning both Spanish and English in our classroom so having opportunities for conversations are needed. I would like to purchase a vet kit and some groceries to go along with the kitchen we have in the classroom. If my students are able to have these materials to practice their fine motor skills and experience learning through dramatic play they will feel more engaged in school and more eager to communicate with their classmates.
