This project will help students by expanding their vocabularies, introducing them to different ways authors write, and prepare them for college! Students will be more likely to pick up these books because the books are representative of the students themselves. I will use this classroom library in my daily instruction by giving students independent reading time in class, having them track their reading, and encouraging students to present a book report once finished. This will build student reading endurance and help them build their public speaking skills. I will also encourage students to take the books home and read on their own time, so long as they return the book to the classroom library. My goal is to foster a love of reading in all of my scholars.
