The books I am requesting will be welcomed by middle grade students who are asking for and eager for interesting and engaging texts. It is a rewarding experience to have set a foundation for reading where students are looking forward to shared reading and wanting more fruitful text added to our class reading. In our classroom, there exists a cozy reading nook with warm lighting, fuzzy rugs, and comfortable seating. When students enter my classroom, they want the time to get a good book and relax in our reading nook. Providing students with books that implement elements of SEL and those necessary components of ELA will not only strengthen our students minds but strengthen their reading and writing. With a strong leader as a teacher and the powerfulness of literature, I believe our students will be successful.
