It's always so easy to get discouraged by the grumbles heard around the classroom when I announce that it's time to read. However, I truly believe in the power of literature and allowing students to build a love for reading through their connections with stories. By digging into the novel Holes, my students can create relevant connections and a love for literature! Students who need a little extra time reading the novel may check it out to read at home. Reading will be much more exciting when students have a chance to hold the book in their hands.
