Students in my class have sensory deficiencies which impede them from being active participants in their pre-academic learning. They need to develop their ability to engage with a variety of textures in order to fully participate in tasks and activities required of them in an educational environment. Creating a variety of different types of sensory bins for my students to use at school will allow me the ability to address their sensory needs. At the same time it will also provide them activities that further develop the fine motor skills they will need in order to become successful students when they transition to Kindergarten.
