Our school holds a Multicultural Event at least once a year, but we try for two if we have the funding and resources. It is a great way for the entire school to come together to celebrate each other. It also allows students to showcase their identities- who they are and where they come from- in a fun and exciting around-the-world multicultural event. Each student will "travel" around the world, experiencing something exciting created by their peers in each continent- food, dance, henna, cultural presentations, pictures, trifold presentations, and more! While enjoying what each country in each continent has to offer, students will get their passport stamped. This event has been a huge success in the past. Students loved the freedom to explore other cultures and get to know their peers and teachers loved to spend time with their students outside of the classroom. It was a wonderful way to promote inclusivity, identity, and diversity!
