At Edison, we have access to clay, glaze, and even a kiln, but we are missing one thing: a pottery wheel. To provide our students with an arts-rich education, Ms. Jackson (lead art teacher) and I would like to introduce students to the therapeutic, fulfilling act of pottery making. We believe that this unique art form allows students to use their hands to create anything imaginable, rather than being confined to the traditional "pen and paper." We want our students to explore all aspects of art-making, so they can find what suits them best. Finding one's niche in art is essential. Art should be enjoyable, so allowing students to find what they like is imperative in the art-making process.
