What is Sandplay Therapy? Sand tray therapy is a form of psychotherapy. People are invited to create three-dimensional pictures in sand trays using miniature objects or figures with a trained therapist present. It is an expressive, non-verbal, creative approach that can be used with people of all ages. Sandplay Therapy is one of the internationally most widely applied therapy methods. SPT is applicable to numerous child mental health problems. There is considerable evidence for the efficacy and effectiveness of SPT. I want my students to have the opportunity to express their emotions through play, specifically Sandplay. I have many students who have been through significant trauma and would benefit from this therapy tool.
