There are so many ways to use a rug in a classroom. My students love to sit on the perimeter of a rug for our morning meetings. Sitting on the edge lets them see one another and make eye contact as they greet each other and share their experiences. During the day we use the rug for story time, debriefing after a math or reading lesson, and for small group instruction. During quiet time students can also use their school bucks to buy some reading time on a comfortable rug.
