The items I chose are based on needs of my students that are not fulfilled by my district. For example, we use small whiteboards regularly and there is a constant need for markers to use with them. We use the whiteboards for interactive learning and it allows me to better gauge my students' understanding of concepts. The easel will support small group learning as the one I have is broken and cannot be used as a whiteboard. My students love to use the easel to show what they've learned so far. The Fraction Stix will be crucial for teaching the visual aspect of fractions. I currently use magnetic ones I purchased myself; however, I'll be doing more hands on, small group activities this year and will need a visual that is more representative of that task. Anything purchased goes directly to enhance the learning experience for my kids. It's been a rough year and a half and it's my goal to make our classroom their second home.
