From early childhood, we all LOVE to play. Play is an important educational tool for children (and even adults) of all ages. During play, we develop and learn many important concepts such as social skills, cause, and effect, use of appropriate language, fine motor skills, math, reading, communication skills, waiting, turn taking, self-control, etc... The list goes on and on!! The goal of this project is to gain tools to help my students learn to become effective communicators through the use of PLAY. Specifically, I am requesting items for my younger students who have the most difficulty with understanding how to effectively communicate their wants and needs. In my cart you will see many cause and effect toys and games directed at younger children as well as some vocabulary cards to help target goals for all of my students prek-5th grade! These cause and effect toys can be used with my most severe students to help them understand that they have the ability to use their bodies to control their environment! I also plan to use these same toys with higher level young children as incentives to perform tasks within the classroom.
