These materials will help students understand and tap into their fullest potential in life. As a classroom teacher, I was never able to help my students on the questions that mattered most to them: how I can get a job, how I can pay for school and when I am supposed to graduate. By incorporating a guidance counselor, my hope is that students can finally visualize where all of their hard work and efforts have taken them. Thanks to the materials on my list, I will turn the school library into a guidance office. My hope is to give students a safe space where they can come take charge of their education and futures. A generous handful of our students are first time high school graduates let alone thinking about the possibilities that are beyond that. I will use the wall to create a private seating area to talk to the student. I will use the chair to provide comfortable seating while we are talking. I will use the remainder of the materials to make this space a home. Thank you for reading this and your generous donations to teachers.
