Our classroom is a blended co-teach program for Pre-K students, uniquely designed to teach social skills along side of and equal to academic skills. Our general education students and special education students on the spectrum are formally taught how to make friends, develop self control skills, and enrich their interpersonal skills. Social skill development is woven throughout our day and in all of our academic activities. Floor puzzles provide the perfect learning opportunity for both general education and special education students to develop and practice their social skills, while at the same time enhancing their own differentiated academic, spatial, and fine motor learning. Floor puzzles provide an opportunity for all students to move from parallel play to interactive and reciprocal play with their peers. Floor puzzles generate much wear and tear as little hands use them throughout the year. By donating to our wonderful Pre-K community, you would be helping our little people make friends as well as helping them to develop their individual reading, math, spatial, and fine motor skills.
