In the ELD classroom, our goal is to become proficient in English. However, my students suffer every day with intermittent internet connectivity. It is so frustrating to watch them trying to access online translations! Many of my students are new to the United States and know no English. They need a quick reference for the common words used at school. Having an old-fashioned paperback book is the solution! It fits easily in their backpacks, stores well in the classroom, and will be greatly appreciated by the students. My school is 97% Hispanic. Translation tools are a must.
