The sensory materials and snacks will provide students, while in my office, a snack if hungry and a physical calming tool. The sensory objects can be used in the classroom to decrease anxiety and enable them to better focus in the classroom. I do morning check-ins with students and have socialization groups throughout the day. The snacks and sensory objects will be very helpful during those times. As the school social worker, I do a lot of crisis intervention. The weighted dolphin will be very helpful for many of my students.
