All of the materials will be used to implement remedial phonics strategies for struggling readers. The plastic organizational materials were selected so they could be easily cleaned and disinfected since they will be shared. The dry erase sleeves will be used for dictation and other word hunt activities. The clipboards will allow the students the freedom to write in non-traditional self-selected spaces. I wanted magnetic clipboards so the same tool could be used for Beck's word building or Cunningham's making words to eliminate transition time. I requested so many magnetic kits so that each student in the group would have their own letters. This will not only save time but also decrease germ spread. The bins, folders, and carts will allow for efficient organization and provide students with a sense of responsibility. It will also keep the students non-shared materials from being cross contaminated.
