This project is aimed at providing students with flexible seating options in the classroom to encourage engaged, attentive learning in a comfortable environment. Studies have shown that when students are more comfortable, they are more likely to retain information and actively participate in their classroom community. Students take control of their learning and exceed behavioral expectations when given the option of where to do their best work. Students who struggle with attention deficit disorders benefit from flexible seating options. Seating like stools, lean-back chairs, and bean bags would give students an alternative to their hard plastic desk chairs and the floor to make learning comfortable and fun!
