This is the second year I teach them in the immersion program. Different from last year, I am able to teach them all subjects, include English literacy this year. However, being a Math/Chinese teacher for several years, I don't have a good amount of English literacy books that I can offer in my class. The used books that I bought and was given by my generous colleague were mostly read by my students after 6 weeks. Therefore, I have an urgent desire to fill my classroom bookshelf with high-quality, challenging, and inspiring books that my students have more choices and read independently. I hope these books will expose my students to a variety of books at/above their reading levels and give each of them the opportunity to choose a book that interests them. Additionally, I hope these books will be a great resource to motivate my student to be deeper thinkers, inquirers, and be more open-minded toward the world and help them to be better writers.
