Having a fully funded project has been a surreal experience, and I am truly grateful for the generosity. The day my boxes started to arrive I felt overwhelmed with excitement for the students I work with. My students felt like it was Christmas time and couldn't wait to look at and use everything in our everyday lessons. When my students found out the project was fully funded, and we would receive all the items on our wishlist, my students were excited and curious about what the \"new\" item was that we were going to use. \r\n\r\nStudents are now able to see me do think-alouds in real-time with the OKIOLABS Webcam and Document Camera. It is easily plugged into my computer, which I turn around for the students to watch as I do my think-aloud with the document camera. It is a good visual, and they are better able to grasp concepts than before they had to wait until I showed them a piece of paper. The two iPads were integrated quickly into our lessons. One is used to display subject objectives. The other is used in conjunction with the Projector Native. The Apple Pencils are a finishing touch of incorporating technology with our special education students. Students feel empowered when they get a turn using, \"the magic pen\" as we collaborate. \r\n\r\nFlexible seating has been a glorified accommodation for my students. Before our generous donation, students sat on little chairs. Now, with the ECR4Kids SoftZone Tree Floor Cushions, students have a little extra padding. They sincerely love the design, as they have not seen cushions such as these before. Limbia Chair Bands are used on the chairs for the students in their general education classrooms who just need that movement and sensory output to stay focused. I have given several pencil grips - specifically Stetro Pencil Grips - to students who need to improve their handwriting. Many of these students do not qualify for Occupational Therapy but need that extra accommodation to help with dexterity. NeeDoh Sensory Fidgets are another great accommodation to have on hand for those who need to keep their hands busy in order for their minds to focus on a specific task. \r\n\r\nStudents who I see for math - specifically - math calculation and problem-solving have had several manipulatives incorporated into their lives within our group. For example, for math problem solving - having the Learning Resources Classroom Clock Kit, to tell time on analog clocks. They have also loved the Kasfalci Magnetic Money. They love how it stays on the Flipside Double-Sided Magnetic Dry-Erase Whiteboard. Math manipulatives are critical for my students. Learning Resources Magnetic Fruit Fractions were delivered at a perfect time - it was a real-life example that they could relate to when they were reviewing fractions. Learning Resources Baby Bear Counters are always a hit - even my fourth-grade students couldn't wait to use them for solving math equations. Lakeshore Magnetic Coins and Lakeshore Magnetic Bills are, \"just like the money mom and dad use at the grocery store\"! Students could not wait to use the Lakeshore money to use for counting and solving money word problems. \r\n\r\nWord Map Paddles were an immediate hit for my students. They absolutely love using the paddles - the green circle magnets for sounds, and the Elkonin Boxes. We have used this for phonemes, segmenting, and blending activities that align with the Science of Reading. During writing, the hand2mind Reading Rods Sentence Construction and hand2mind Reading Prefix/Suffix Rods are engaging. Students work as a group (no more than five students) and are able to manipulate words to create sentences and questions. Once they use the rods to build, they practice their handwriting skills - as reading and writing go hand in hand. \r\n\r\nStudents work hard, and building relationships is vital in this role. One of the positive behavior intervention strategies I incorporate with each of my groups is group points. When they have reached their goal, they earn a party. Having Magna Tiles has been a treat for my students because they are not just having \"free time\", but they are learning skills: patience, collaboration, and how things go (or do not go) together. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your incredible donation to support our Resource Groups! We appreciate your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1732298130532,"projectUrl":"project/resource-wish-list/8956657/","projectTitle":"Resource Wish List","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. ROMERO","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9843938_orig.png?crop=80,80,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732210541915","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9843938"},{"teacherId":7999618,"projectId":5753208,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your support has made a big difference in my classroom and has helped me create fun and engaging learning experiences for my students. I believe that when students enjoy learning, they do better, and your donation has given me the tools to make that happen.\r\n\r\nWith your help, I've been able to use websites like Wordwall to create interactive games and activities. These tools let me design lessons that students can do both in school and at home. My students love the games, and I've seen them become more excited and confident in their learning. For example, when we use Wordwall for vocabulary practice, they don't even realize they're learning because they're having so much fun!\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only helped my students learn better but has also made my job as a teacher more rewarding.
